Malyatko Case Study: A Ukrainian Baby Tracker Invisible for "немовля," the Word for Baby
Malyatko: Baby Log & Tracker is built by a Ukrainian developer and localized into Ukrainian, but it isn't indexed for "немовля," "мій малюк," or "для немовлят" — the everyday phrases Ukrainian parents actually type. Baby Tracker, a six-year-old app from a solo developer, ranks #1 for nearly all of them.

TV Remote - Universal Control dominates every brand-specific remote keyword in the US Utilities chart with 609,342 reviews, but isn't indexed for "screen mirroring" or "mirror iphone to tv" at all, and sits at #161 for "cast to tv." Screen Mirroring | Cast to TV, with 14,178 reviews, owns those exact three terms and isn't indexed for a single one of eleven remote-control queries checked. Google Trends shows the mirroring term running consistently higher than the remote term for six straight months.

Symmetry Built Its Own "Rank System" for the Gym. It's Not Indexed for "Gym Rank" Anywhere — a Rival Literally Called Ranked Gym Workouts Owns It in All Three Countries
Symmetry's AI body scan and gamified "Rank System" for 300+ exercises drive #8 in Spain's Health & Fitness chart and top-5 search rank there, but the app doesn't chart at all in the US or UK. Liftoff, a competitor built around the identical ranking mechanic, owns #1 in all three countries for "gym rank" and "ranked gym" — terms Symmetry isn't indexed for anywhere, despite building the same feature first.

Search "Room Thermometer" and 19 of the Real Contenders Launched Since 2025 — Right as US Search Interest Fell From 100 to 15
Filter the meat thermometers and smart-HVAC companion apps out of a "room thermometer" search and 19 near-identical apps remain, all launched since January 2025, five still sitting at zero reviews. None of them can physically sense the room they're running in — iPhones don't ship an ambient temperature sensor — and only one, a 2013 holdover with 7,248 reviews, says so in its own description. Google Trends shows both core terms peaking in April 2026 and falling to a third of that by September, right as most of the wave was still shipping updates.

Three "Discover Places" Apps Rank #1 for a Term Scoring 3 on Google Trends — None Rank for "Hidden Gems," Which Scores 50
The same search for "discover places" across the US, UK, Germany, France, and Italy returns three real apps splitting the top ranks and dozens of near-identical clones with one or two reviews, most launched in 2025 or 2026. Google Trends puts "discover places" at 3 to 8 out of 100 for six months straight, against 33 to 57 for "hidden gems" — a term none of the three leaders are indexed for at all. One app in the same space skipped the generic pitch entirely and ranks #3 for "gluten free restaurants" instead.

Amorly Case Study: Named "Couples Games & Quiz," Built as an AI Love-Message Generator, Invisible for Both in the US
Amorly's App Store listing describes an AI tool that writes personalized love messages, date ideas, and gift ideas for your specific partner — but its name and keywords chase "Couples Games & Quiz," one of the most cloned indie niches on the App Store, dominated by Paired at 3.5 million installs. Search data across the US, UK, France, Italy, and Ukraine shows it isn't indexed for "love messages" anywhere, and its only real chart foothold is Ukraine, its developer's home market.

FantaLab Manager, a small independent app, currently sits at #1 in Italy's App Store Sports chart — ahead of three separate apps made by Fantacalcio s.r.l., the company that owns the Fantacalcio trademark and publishes Italy's biggest fantasy-football media site.
