Ukraine's only entrance-finder app is #1 for "під'їзди" on both stores. On iPhone it isn't indexed for "під'їзд", the form people search about ten times more
If you've ever delivered a parcel to a Soviet-era apartment block in Ukraine, you know the problem: the building has eight entrances (під'їзди), none of them clearly numbered, and you need the one with flat 214. Підʼїзди is built for exactly that, and as far as we can tell it has the niche to itself. Search "під'їзди" in the Ukrainian App Store and it's the only result. On Google Play it's #1 and the rest of the page is survival games and a budget tracker. It ranks #18 in Ukraine's Navigation chart on iPhone with 84 ratings, and has about 20,000 installs on Android.
There's one gap. Ukrainians search the singular, "під'їзд" (entrance), far more than the plural. On Google Trends, measured on the same scale, "під'їзд" sits between 51 and 90 every week for the past six months, while "під'їзди" only rises above zero twice, at 7 and 6. On Google Play the app is #1 for "під'їзд". On iPhone it isn't indexed for it at all, in any spelling.
What the app does
You type a street and house number, and the app shows a 3D map of the building with every entrance marked and the range of flat numbers behind it. The listing says it covers 28 Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Lviv, and that users have added more than 43,000 entrances on top of OpenStreetMap data. It's pitched at couriers, taxi drivers, and emergency services.
It has also grown into a navigator. There's speed-camera and radar warnings, traffic lights (added in the latest version), and what the developer calls an "РЕБ-асистент": when electronic warfare jams GPS during air-raid alerts, the app simulates your movement along the route so navigation doesn't freeze. Version 1.5.5 on iOS was updated on October 6, 2026. The Android version (package entr.finder) launched on April 7, 2026.
The niche: one app, real demand
Most niche checks find too many apps. This one finds almost none. We searched both stores in Ukraine for the obvious terms:
| Search | Store | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| під'їзди | App Store UA | 1 result: Підʼїзди |
| під'їзд | App Store UA | 6 results: a parking game, two intercom apps, a door-code app, a security camera app, a driveway calculator. No entrance finder |
| під'їзди | Google Play UA | Підʼїзди at #1, then unrelated games and utilities |
The demand is real but quiet. Google Trends shows steady weekly interest in "під'їзд" and no sign of fading. The App Store autocomplete only offers one completion, "під'їзди", which is the app's own name. Google Play offers five, and every one of them is a version of the app's title: "під'їзди 3д", "під'їзди 3д навігація", "під'їзди 3д карти навігація". People who type it into a store are mostly searching for this app by name, having heard of it somewhere else. That's what brand demand looks like. It's a good sign for the app, but it also means store search alone won't grow the niche much. Word of mouth among couriers and drivers does that.
Google Trends also shows the top related search for "під'їзд" is "поштомат" (parcel locker), with "поштомат нова пошта" rising fast. Nova Poshta has been putting lockers inside apartment-block entrances, and people search for which entrance has one. That's a second job for the same map.
Charts: a top-20 Navigation app on iPhone
| Store | Chart | Position |
|---|---|---|
| App Store UA | Navigation, top-free | #18 of 100 |
| Google Play UA | Maps & Navigation, top-free | #44 of 200 |
Ukraine's Navigation chart is a mix of global giants and wartime utilities. On iPhone, Google Maps, Waze, and Eway hold the top 3, and an air-raid alert map sits at #17. On Google Play, two air-raid alert maps hold #1 and #2, above Waze. Pulse says the top 10% of iPhone Navigation apps hold 91% of the category's ratings, so most of the chart is small apps fighting over very little. With 84 ratings, Підʼїзди is already in the top 20, and it got there without a single competitor in its own niche.
Search: where the app ranks
| Keyword | English | App Store UA | Google Play UA |
|---|---|---|---|
| під'їзди | entrances | #1 | #1 |
| під'їзд | entrance | not indexed | #1 |
| підʼїзд / підїзд | entrance (other spellings) | not indexed | #1 |
| номер під'їзду | entrance number | not indexed | not in top 30 |
| 3д карта | 3D map | #2 | #8 |
| навігація | navigation | #7 | not in top 30 |
| карта | map | #11 | not in top 30 |
| навігатор без інтернету | offline navigator | #11 | not in top 30 |
| карта україни | map of Ukraine | #19 | not in top 30 |
| кур'єр | courier | #34 | not in top 30 |
| доставка | delivery | #42 | not in top 30 |
| навігатор | navigator | #45 | not in top 30 |
| квартира | flat | #86 | not in top 30 |
| навігатор з камерами | navigator with cameras | #154 | not in top 30 |
| антирадар, камери, радари, gps, entrance | speed camera, cameras, radars | not indexed | not in top 30 |
Google Play shows only the top 30 results, so "not in top 30" means a user scrolling won't find the app, not that it isn't indexed.
The iPhone pattern makes sense once you know how the App Store matches words. It doesn't treat "під'їзд" and "під'їзди" as the same word. It matches what's in your title, subtitle, and the hidden 100-character keyword field, almost literally. The title says "Підʼїзди", so the plural ranks #1. Nothing in the indexed metadata says "під'їзд", so the singular doesn't rank at all. It doesn't matter which apostrophe you type, because Apple normalizes those. The plural ranks #1 with the straight apostrophe, the Ukrainian one, or none. Google Play reads the full description and handles word forms, which is why the same app is #1 for the singular there.
The rest of the iPhone table is better than most small apps get. #7 for "навігація" and #11 for "навігатор без інтернету" (the first thing App Store autocomplete suggests after "навігатор") are real positions on real searches. "3д карта" at #2 looks great, but its only autocomplete suggestion is itself, so very few people type it. On Google Play, the app ranks only for its own name and "3д карта". The generic navigation terms are taken by Waze and dozens of "GPS Maps" apps.
Is "під'їзд" worth chasing?
| Term | Google Trends UA, last 6 months (same scale) | App Store autocomplete | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| під'їзд | 51–90 every week | none of its own | Real demand, mostly on the web |
| під'їзди | 0 most weeks, 7 and 6 at its peaks | yes, the app's name | Brand search for this app |
| номер під'їзду | too low to register | none | Empty room |
| навігатор | 18–25, flat (separate query) | yes, 10 suggestions | Real demand, crowded |
A lot of Google interest in "під'їзд" isn't app intent. The second related query is "під'їзд правопис", people checking how to spell the word. But costs are lopsided. Adding one word to the iOS keyword field is free, the term is already #1 on Android, and on iPhone nobody else ranks for it in a meaningful way. The results are a parking game and intercom apps. An app with no competitor for a word only needs to be indexed for it.
РЕБ and "без GPS": a feature search can't find
The app's most unusual feature is the one tied to the war. When electronic warfare (РЕБ) jams or spoofs GPS, phone navigation freezes or jumps to the wrong place, and Підʼїзди keeps moving your marker along the route. The iOS description calls it "РЕБ-асистент". On iPhone, though, the description isn't indexed for search, and "РЕБ" isn't in the title. The result:
| Keyword | English | Підʼїзди, App Store | Підʼїзди, Google Play | Neiv, App Store | Store autocomplete |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| реб | electronic warfare | not indexed | not in top 30 | #8 | no navigation completions on either store |
| реб навігація | EW navigation | not indexed | not in top 30 | #1 | none |
| глушіння gps | GPS jamming | not indexed | not in top 30 | #1 | — |
| gps спуфінг | GPS spoofing | not indexed | — | #1 | — |
| без gps | without GPS | not indexed | not in top 30 | not indexed | completes to "навігатор без gps" on both stores |
| навігатор без gps | navigator without GPS | not indexed | not in top 30 | not indexed | yes, App Store and Google Play |
| навігація без gps | navigation without GPS | not indexed | not in top 30 | not indexed | yes, Google Play |
"—" means we didn't check that combination.
Two kinds of demand show up here, and they don't overlap. On Google Trends (one query, shared scale), "реб" sits at 14–24 every week with no decline, while "навігатор без gps" scores 0 or 1. But the Google interest in "реб" is mostly about what EW is and where to buy it: the top related queries are "реб це" (what is EW), "що таке реб", and "купити реб" (buy EW), and the fastest-rising is "реб на авто", a jammer for your car. None of it is a search for an app, and neither store autocompletes "реб" to anything about navigation.
"Навігатор без gps" is the opposite: almost no Google volume, but it's an autocomplete phrase on both the App Store and Google Play. People type it directly into the store. On iPhone the results are MAPS.ME, Waze, Guru Maps, and other offline-map apps. Those solve a different problem (no internet, not no GPS). No app built for GPS loss shows up for the phrase at all, Neiv included. It's open, and Підʼїзди already has the feature.
The indie neighbours
Підʼїзди isn't the only one-person Ukrainian app in the Navigation chart. Three others overlap with its navigator side, and each one owns the search terms for its own main feature:
| App | Developer | Core job | iOS Navigation chart | iOS ratings | Google Play chart | Play installs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Підʼїзди | Oleksandr Nazarenko | Entrance map + navigator with cameras and GPS-loss mode | #18 | 84 (4.3★) | #44 | 20K |
| RadarGap | Kateryna Sandul | Speed-camera alerts, police posts, fuel stations on route | #6 | 5 (4.2★) | #47 | 2.7K (since Aug 20, 2026) |
| Neiv | Kiril Polishchuk | Offline navigator that keeps your position through GPS loss using the car's OBD-II port | #11 | 2 (3.0★) | no Android version found | — |
| Safe Road | Oleh Syrovatko | Road-quality monitoring, camera alerts, community road warnings | #28 | 15 (3.4★) | #28 | 33K (since Mar 17, 2025) |
Chart position on iPhone barely tracks ratings here. RadarGap is #6 with five ratings, and Neiv is #11 with two. Ukraine's iPhone Navigation chart is shallow below Google Maps, Waze, and Eway, and a brand-new app with a handful of ratings can sit in the top 20. Підʼїзди has more ratings than the other three combined (84 against 22) and is the only one with a real foothold on Google Play besides Safe Road.
| Keyword (App Store UA) | Підʼїзди | RadarGap | Neiv | Safe Road |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| навігація | #7 | not indexed | #74 | #92 |
| навігатор | #45 | #23 | not indexed | not indexed |
| навігатор без інтернету | #11 | not indexed | not indexed | not indexed |
| камери швидкості | not indexed | #7 | — | #15 |
| радари | not indexed | #20 | — | — |
| антирадар | not indexed | #32 | — | not indexed |
| навігатор з камерами | #154 | #88 | — | not indexed |
| реб | not indexed | not indexed | #8 | not indexed |
| навігатор без gps | not indexed | — | not indexed | — |
Each indie wins its own words. RadarGap's title is "Радар камер та GPS", and it takes the camera terms. Neiv's listing is about GPS jamming, and it takes "реб". Підʼїзди has shipped both of those features, camera warnings and a GPS-loss mode, but it doesn't rank for either set of words. Its strength is the generic "навігація" and "навігатор без інтернету", which neither neighbour has. On Google Play, none of the four indies is in the top 30 for "реб", "антирадар", "камери швидкості", "навігатор", or "навігатор без gps". Those results belong to Waze, Organic Maps, Sygic, and the big "GPS Maps" publishers.
The products differ in how they deliver the GPS-loss feature, which matters for positioning. Neiv needs an OBD-II adapter plugged into the car and charges $29.99 a month (or $199.99 a year) for the dead-reckoning mode, with free minutes to try it. Підʼїзди simulates movement along the route with nothing extra to buy, and it's free. "No adapter, no subscription" is a sentence Підʼїзди can say in its subtitle or screenshots, and Neiv can't.
What we'd change
- Put "під'їзд" in the iOS keyword field. One word, and the App Store doesn't need the plural repeated because it's already in the title. Also add "квартира", "номер", and "вхід" so phrases like "номер під'їзду" can match across fields.
- Use the subtitle for the job, not the features. The title already carries "3D карта, навігація". A subtitle like "Знайти під'їзд і квартиру" puts the singular and "квартира" in a heavily weighted field and says what the app is for in five words.
- Index for couriers and drivers. The app is #34 for "кур'єр" and #42 for "доставка" without trying. Words like "кур'єр", "доставка", and "таксі" in the keyword field target the exact users the description names.
- Index for the navigator features you already built. RadarGap takes the camera terms with five ratings and Neiv takes "реб" with two, because those words are in their metadata. A keyword field like
під'їзд,квартира,номер,вхід,кур'єр,доставка,таксі,реб,без gps,камери,антирадарfits in 78 of the 100 characters. Don't repeat words already in the title. - Claim "навігатор без gps" before anyone else does. It's a store autocomplete phrase on both platforms, and no app built for GPS loss ranks for it, Neiv included. On Google Play, put "РЕБ-асистент: навігація без GPS" in the short description, which Play weighs heavily. On iPhone, "без gps" in the keyword field plus "навігатор" in the subtitle can combine into the phrase.
- Say "no adapter, no subscription". Neiv's GPS-loss mode needs an OBD-II adapter and costs $29.99 a month. Підʼїзди's is free and needs nothing. Say that in a screenshot caption, because search won't show it.
- Test parcel lockers. "Поштомат" is the top related search for "під'їзд" and it's growing. If the community can tag which entrance has a Nova Poshta locker, that's a feature with its own search demand, and nobody in either store owns it.
Data pulled from live App Store and Google Play search, autocomplete, charts, and Google Trends via Pumf.it on October 7, 2026. Search positions change daily. Google Play search is visible only to the top 30. Install counts on Google Play are Google's global figure. Google Trends values are relative within each query (0–100), and only terms queried together share a scale. This is a read of public store data, not a critique of Підʼїзди, RadarGap, Neiv, or Safe Road. A community-built entrance map that keeps working through GPS jamming is a genuinely useful product, and the gaps described here are metadata work, not product flaws.
